Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to enhance every component of information systems (IS) at the individual, organizational and societal level. However, AI technologies are being developed and commercialized at an unprecedented speed making it hard for IS researchers and practitioners to keep up with these technologies and how they can enhance IS. The technologies have evolved so fast in the last decade that many companies have tried and failed to implement AI without truly understanding what it is. Therefore, understanding AI from the perspective of the leading developers of related technologies is crucial for its adoption, use and impact on IS. In this paper, we provide a systematic review and synthesis of practice-based literature on AI, highlighting what leading industry entities and experts understand by AI. We use these findings to propose an AI adoption, use and impact classification framework for IS research and propose a corresponding research agenda. Collapse

Abstract: With the rise of digitalization and knowledge work, the relevance of e-collaboration in and among enterprises continues to increase. However, in the discrete manufacturing industry, whose product costing requires ample communication, coordination, and information exchange, we detected a particular lack of collaboration support in product costing. In response, we established the concept of Business Domain-Specific e-Collaboration, which focuses on integrating e-collaboration into the core process of product costing. Abstract: In enterprises, limitations of time and place vanish more and more due to virtual collaboration. As a business domain, product costing is characterized by a high demand for communication, coordination, and information exchange. A prior study revealed that virtual cooperation has not been integrated into this particular business area and that there is a need to find ways to enable and support such specific forms of virtual collaboration. To navigate the challenge of integrating virtual cooperation support directly into the core process of a particular business domain we introduce Business Domain-Specific eCollaboration. We present a requirements model for integrated virtual cooperation in product costing derived from expert interviews. It shows what an integrative approach can offer in order to link collaboration support directly into the process of a particular business domain. Collapse

Abstract: This study sought to investigate the requirements of technology management tools for Spanish sport managers, in order to improve the quality of management in sports organisations and facilities. We hypothesised that current sport management computer software programmes do not adequately satisfy the manager’s needs. This hypothesis was tested with an analysis by a panel of Spanish experts in the ﬁeld of sports management. The results of this study indicated that these professionals are in need of a new computer software programme speciﬁcally tailored for their use. Abstract: There has been a great deal of focus on the customer service provided online and its impact upon customer satisfaction and loyalty. Such IT-mediated customer service (ITMCS) is an important research topic because IT may be the sole link between a company and its customers and the only means by which a company can differentiate itself from the competition. While the research attention has focused on what facilitates online service, little attention has been given to what inhibits such service. It will be argued that this lapse misses potentially important e-business factors that will drive customers away, rather than towards, an online business channel. For example, web advertisement has become increasing intrusive and frustrating through the use of “pop-under” browser windows. This study investigated the specific website attributes that lead to frustrated, disgruntled and dissatisfied customers. We will provide the results of a qualitative study of 36 e-Commerce consumers, a preliminary typology of ITMCS inhibitors, and the potential behavioral responses to the presence of those inhibitors. Emotions were used as a key construct to assist in the discovering of these service inhibitors and the study found that frustration is a very common experience for online customers. The results of this study are intended to guide further theoretical development and empirical testing of ITMCS inhibitors and their consequences. Collapse
