Abstract: Intelligent assistance systems are omnipresent in our everyday lives and will continue to become increasingly important. Due to the progress in the field of the Internet of Things, we are observing rapid technological progress. The automotive industry has a long history of continuous development of user assistance systems. Today, there are already many smart assistance systems in cars, and the development of other assistance systems is continually being pushed forward. One such emerging technology, which is currently in the development phase, is intelligent parking systems. We conduct a discrete choice experiment (N=205) and analyze user preferences and purchase probabilities for intelligent parking systems. Our results show the importance of data security and additional technical attributes. They offer a revealing insight, especially for automobile manufacturers, since innovative technologies should be tailored to the users to achieve high customer acceptance. Collapse

Abstract: The article suggests a model for examining the adoption of e-recruiting by individuals. The model is empirically evaluated using survey data from 323 full and under age applicants. The results explain substantial parts of the individual adoption decision. Interestingly, the relative importance of the adoption drivers varies with age, social environment and the level of education. While, as expected, overall Performance Expectancy is the major force behind adopting e-recruiting, the relative importance of the other factors differs a lot. Whereas Facilitating Conditions came out as an important driver for under age pupils, full age students by contrast are highly driven by the influence of their peer groups and the communication of the respective company they apply for. A major outcome is that the Subjective Norm of family and friends, teachers and professors has a weaker influence for under age pupils who mostly live with their parents than for the group of students who already left home to study at college. Consequentially we assume that the social influence of peer groups on an individual’s adoption differs with respect to age, social environment and level of education. This should be investigated more carefully in future adoption research as it might provide an answer for the varying significance of Subjective Norm in adoption research. Collapse

Abstract: This work contributes to outsourcing research by shedding some light on IT outsourcing relationships. A theoretical model is developed that shows the influence of determinants on relationship quality. Relationship quality is captured by a set of five dimensions from previous literature and enhanced by two new dimensions (communication quality, forbearance). Determinants from the literature are extended by two new elements (interaction structure, service quality). By using a case study approach from the German financial industry, we show the applicability of interaction structures and service quality as relationship quality determinants. Interaction structures like employee trainings or transfer of staff have a strong positive impact on communication quality and mutual business understanding, whereas service quality mainly influences the level of conflict in a relationship. The results regarding the two proposed relationship quality dimensions are mixed. Communication quality is a good measure for capturing relationship quality and shows strong connections to interaction intensity and interactions structures. The applicability of forbearance as a relationship quality dimension is ambiguous. Some banks see forbearance as dimension of relationship quality, while others use forbearance as a strategic element to force the provider into delivering additional or better services. Collapse
