Abstract: Previous studies on mobile payment solutions neglected potential users' heterogeneity regarding individual characteristics and the time-critical context of mass event hospitality. This study identifies three potential user clusters -namely Early Adopters, Undecided Majority and Laggards in consistence with innovation diffusion theory. Moreover, we employ cluster-specific CB-SEMs to identify determinants of mobile payment adoption and extend the UTAUT model with contextual factors. Results highlight that the relevance of drivers for creating adoption intention differ across customer clusters. We contribute to a more nuanced understanding of the mechanisms, through which technology adoption can be achieved depending on individuals' characteristics and highlight that a "one size fits all" approach is not suitable. Abstract: The paper defines and validates a scale—CC-Qual—to assess the quality of services provided through a Collaborative Consumption (CC) model. The authors have borrowed a set of items arranged in eight dimensions from the literature on CC. A panel of selected practitioners (seven CEOs of CC companies) assisted in the design of the questionnaire, which was launched in June 2018. Abstract: Software development organizations (SDOs) innovate in diverse ways. In this paper, based on an extensive review of innovation typologies, we develop a theory-driven typology of SDO innovator classes. We theorize about the driving forces behind these classes, with specific attention given to knowledge-based dispositions that relate to the SDO's knowledge-based competencies in technology appropriation, technology generation, and network intensity within ecological niches. Through a survey of 136 SDOs, which adopted Internet technologies during 1995-2006, we empirically verify that these classes also determine different ways that SDOs innovate around software services they provide to their clients. Our findings suggest that the knowledge-based dispositions of different SDO innovator classes impact how they innovate. Overall, the study involves theorizing around different types of innovation behaviours and associated knowledge-based factors that influence the way SDOs innovate. Collapse

Abstract: User experience practitioners have benefitted from the availability of usability measures that are short, generalizable, and easy to interpret, such as the System Usability Scale. However, such generalizable instruments fail to address many of the key characteristics of software applications that can be used across a range of mobile devices. Our response is development of MUX, a mobile user experience instrument that provides holistic assessment of specific software-device use scenarios. We find that MUX selfreport scales assessing Nuisance, Mobility, and Access can be applied to effectively augment measures of the System Usability Scale or can be used as a standalone instrument for rating and comparing user experiences in mobile computing. Abstract: In this paper, we focus on PLS-SEM’s ability to handle models with observable binary outcomes. We examine the different ways in which a binary outcome may appear in a model and distinguish those situations in which a binary outcome is indeed problematic versus those in which one can easily incorporate it into a PLS-SEM analysis. Explicating such details enables IS researchers to distinguish different situations rather than avoid PLS-SEM altogether whenever a binary indicator presents itself. In certain situations, one can adapt PLS-SEM to analyze structural models with a binary observable variable as the endogenous construct. Specifically, one runs the PLS-SEM first stage as is. Subsequently, one uses the output for the binary variable and latent variable antecedents from this analysis in a separate logistic regression or discriminant analysis to estimate path coefficients for just that part of the structural model. We also describe a method—regularized generalized canonical correlation analysis (RGCCA)—from statistics, which is similar to PLS-SEM but unequivocally allows binary outcomes. Collapse

Abstract: The main objective of this study is to identify the antecedents as well as the effects of computer self-efficacy on information systems acceptance and use. The study is conducted in the context of social networking sites adoption. 255 respondents from Bangkok, Thailand participated in this research. Structural equation modeling techniques have been employed to analyze the data collected. Results reveal that basic computer knowledge and previous computer experience positively influence an individual’s computer self-efficacy as well as their intention to use social networking programs. Results also show that Social factors do not play a major role in improving an individual’s computer self-efficacy. Computer self-efficacy is found to be directly influencing perceived usefulness and indirectly influencing intention to use an information system. Collapse

Abstract: Difficulties in defining and understanding the antecedents and consequences of e-government service quality have stymied the design of efficacious e-government websites. This study thus presents a working definition of e-government service quality that bridges the gap between MIS and marketing literatures. We then explore the delineation between service content and delivery quality as potential antecedents of e-government service quality. Together with cognitive and system-salient consequences derived from prior research, we construct and empirically test an egovernment service quality model on a sample of 647 existing e-government service participants. 15 out of 17 hypotheses were supported, thereby attesting to the saliency of the constructs and relationships embodied in our model. Further, the structural properties of our model were validated using both LISREL and PLS analytical techniques. This lends credibility to our explanations and predictions by affirming the stability of our theoretical base upon which the hypothesized relationships were generated. Collapse

Abstract: Even after a decade of research and discussion, strategic alignment, denoting the fit between information technology (IT) and business strategy, remains an enduring challenge for firms worldwide. In this paper, we go beyond the dominant firm-level alignment paradigm by utilizing a value disciplines perspective on strategic foci to conceptualize alignment at the process level. Theory would then suggest that alignment should be tightest in processes that are considered critical to each firm's strategic focus. Using data from matched surveys of IT and business executives at 241 firms, we detect support for this locus of alignment argument when alignment is identified using profile deviation or moderation. We also find a positive link between alignment and perceived IT business value in each of five primary processes in the value chain. By bringing a process-level view to the study of alignment and its impacts, we go beyond a discussion on the extent of fit—a cornerstone of the literature—to whether firms are pursuing the right type of fit for the particular mix of processes underlying their strategy. In this way, a process-level perspective can foster a deeper and more meaningful understanding of how alignment affects firm performance. Our results also show a need for managers to reconsider the steps taken to align IT and business strategy by looking more closely at how IT can support individual processes rather than at how IT can support an entire strategy.
