Abstract: While decentralized finance (DeFi) has the potential to emulate and, indeed, outperform existing financial systems, it remains a complex phenomenon yet to be extensively researched. To make the most of this potential, its practitioners must gain a rigorous understanding of its intricacies, as must information systems (IS) researchers. Against this background, this study uses a multivocal literature review to capture the state of research in DeFi. Thereby, we (1) present a consolidating definition of DeFi as we (2) analyze, synthesize, and discuss the current state of knowledge in the field of DeFi. We do so while adapting the blockchain research framework proposed by (Risius and Spohrer, Business & Information Systems Engineering 59:385–409, 2017). Furthermore, we (3) identify gaps in the literature and indicate future research directions in DeFi. Even though our findings highlight several shortcomings in DeFi that have prevented its widespread adoption, our literature review shows a large consensus on DeFi’s many promising features and potential to complement the traditional financial system. To that end, this paper is presented to encourage further research to mitigate the current risks of DeFi, the payoff of which will be an enriched financial ecosystem. Collapse

Abstract: Harvesting presents one of the most challenging tasks in the agricultural field. While other areas within and outside the agricultural sector have moved to automate labor-intensive tasks, the selective harvesting of fruit still involves painstaking manual labor. Although progress has been made in the development of selective harvesting robots in agriculture, the proposed solutions still do not meet the requirements for commercialization and need further improvement from a technical point of view. To address the need to assess the current developments in technical components, we conduct a systematic literature review on recent publications in the field and depict our findings along three main technical components, namely vision system, manipulator & end-effector and robot control. The obtained findings show that a significant body of literature focuses on the vision system, while the results on manipulator and end effector and especially on robot control are limited. Collapse

Abstract: Research on blockchain has found that the technology is no silver bullet compared to traditional data structures due to limitations regarding decentralization, security, and scalability. These limitations are summarized in the blockchain trilemma, which today represents the greatest barrier to blockchain adoption and applicability. To address these limitations, recent advancements by blockchain businesses have focused on a new cryptographic technique called "Zero-knowledge proofs". While these primitives have been around for some time and despite their potential significance on blockchains, not much is known in information systems research about them and their potential effects. Therefore, we employ a multivocal literature review to explore this new tool and find that although it has the potential to resolve the trilemma, it currently only solves it in certain dimensions, which necessitates further attention and research. Abstract: Blockchain-based systems become increasingly attractive targets for cybercrime due to the rising amount of value transacted in respective systems. However, a comprehensive overview of existing attack vectors and a directive discussion of resulting research opportunities are missing. Employing a structured literature review, we extract and analyze 87 relevant attacks on blockchain-based systems and assign them to common attack vectors. We subsequently derive a research framework and agenda for information systems research on the cybersecurity of blockchain-based systems. We structure our framework along the users, developers, and attackers of both blockchain applications and blockchain infrastructure, highlighting the reciprocal relationships between these entities. Our results show that especially socio-technical aspects of blockchain cybersecurity are underrepre­ sented in research and require further attention. Collapse

Abstract: Password manager applications have the potential to alleviate password pain and improve password strength, yet they are not widely adopted. Password managers are dissimilar to other kinds of software tools, given that the leakage of the credentials they store could give a hacker access to all the individual's online accounts. Moreover, adoption requires a deliberate switch away from an existing (manual) password management routine. As such, traditional technology adoption models are unlikely to model password manager adoption accurately. In this paper, we propose and explain how we validated a theoretical model of smartphone password manager adoption. We commenced by carrying out exploratory interviews with 30 smartphone owners to identify factors that influence adoption. These were used to develop a model that reflects the password manager adoption process, building on migration theory. The proposed model, MIGRANT (MIGRation pAssword maNager adopTion), was validated and subsequently refined in a week-long study with 198 smartphone owners, combining self-report and observation to measure constructs. This study contributes to the information security behavioral literature by isolating the main factors that encourage or deter password manager adoption, and those that moor smartphone owners in their current practices, hindering switching. With this investigation, we introduce migration theory as a reference theory for future studies in the information security behavioral field. Collapse

Abstract: The ethical dimensions of Artificial Intelligence (AI) constitute a salient topic in information systems (IS) research and beyond. There is an increasing number of journal and conference articles on how AI should be designed and used. For this, IS research offers and curates knowledge not only on the ethical dimensions of information technologies but also on their acceptance and impact. However, the current discourse on the ethical dimensions of AI is highly unstructured and seeks clarity. As conventional systematic literature research has been criticized for lacking in performance, we applied an adapted discourse approach to identify the most relevant articles within the debate. As the fundamental manuscripts within the discourse were not obvious, we used a weighted citation-based technique to identify fundamental manuscripts and their relationships within the field of AI ethics across disciplines. Starting from an initial sample of 175 papers, we extracted and further analyzed 12 fundamental manuscripts and their citations. Although we found many similarities between traditionally curated ethical principles and the identified ethical dimensions of AI, no IS paper could be classified as fundamental to the discourse. Therefore, we derived our own ethical dimensions on AI and provided guidance for future IS research. Collapse

Abstract: With increasing technological and competitive challenges, the number of interorganizational networks that share data to improve performance constantly grows. Governing these inter-organizational environments is challenging. Nevertheless, interorganizational data governance (IODG) is the linchpin of successful data sharing in collaborations. Simultaneously, the attention on blockchain technology steadily increases. Its decentralized nature and focus on transparency and trust make blockchain fascinating for practitioners and researchers in the context of data sharing. A symbiosis of IODG and blockchain is still lacking, although both concepts will become more critical in future. This paper aims to fill this gap and lay the foundation for future research in the context of blockchain and IODG. Four IODG modes are used as a research framework and are directly addressed via blockchain-based concepts within a grounded theorybased literature review to utilize the information systems (IS) body of knowledge. Cookies are a standardized method of data storage in the field of web-tracking and contain a variety of different information about a user. Often personal data is stored in cookies to identify a user. At this point, the legal requirements of the ePrivacy (Cookie) Directive and the General Data Protection Regulation must be observed. The new ePrivacy Regulation has not yet come into force and is expected in 2021. This research aims to develop legal and functional-technical requirements to meet the current challenges. As a general source for the development, a literature review and qualitative expert interviews have been carried out.
