Abstract: With the rise and integration of AI technologies within organizations, our understanding of the impact of this technology on individuals remains limited. Although the IS use literature provides important guidance for organization to increase employees' willingness to work with new technology, the utilitarian view of prior IS use research limits its application considering the new evolving social interaction between humans and AI agents. We contribute to the IS use literature by implementing a social view to understand the impact of AI agents on an individual's perception and behavior. By focusing on the main design dimensions of AI agents, we propose a framework that utilizes social psychology theories to explain the impact of those design dimensions on individuals. Specifically, we build on Similarity Attraction Theory to propose an AI similarity-continuance model that aims to explain how similarity with AI agents influence individuals' IT identity and intention to continue working with it. Through an online brainstorming experiment, we found that similarity with AI agents indeed has a positive impact on IT identity and on the intention to continue working with the AI agent. Collapse

Abstract: Organizations employ process mining to discover, check, or enhance process models based on data from information systems to improve business processes. Even though process mining is increasingly relevant in academia and organizations, achieving process mining excellence and generating business value through its application is elusive. Maturity models can help to manage interdisciplinary teams in their efforts to plan, implement, and manage process mining in organizations. However, while numerous maturity models on business process management (BPM) are available, recent calls for process mining maturity models indicate a gap in the current knowledge base. We systematically design and develop a comprehensive process mining maturity model that consists of five factors comprising 23 elements, which organizations need to develop to apply process mining sustainably and successfully. We contribute to the knowledge base by the exaptation of existing BPM maturity models, and validate our model through its application to a real-world scenario. Collapse

Abstract: The adoption of augmented reality (AR) has been one of the defining technological trends of the past decade. While AR has experienced significant growth in consumer electronics, its potential for professional use still needs to be explored. Despite the growing interest in AR, determining its feasibility and potential to satisfy business needs remains challenging. To address this gap, we used a mixedmethod research approach to create a guiding framework called the process augmentability canvas. Drawing on a comprehensive case study of a major European maintenance, repair, and overhaul service provider, as well as state-of-the literature, we present a canvas that allows scholars and practitioners to evaluate AR's applicability for a given process thoroughly. By providing a structured approach to analyzing AR solutions, the process augmentability canvas contributes to a better understanding of how AR can be used efficiently in organizational settings. Abstract: We describe a pedagogical study in which we designed and implemented a module for undergraduate Management Information Systems (MIS) students, aimed at preparing them for an increasingly AIimpacted business environment and society. We developed a learning module that taps their inherent motivation to make a meaningful difference, challenging them to ideate applications of AI for social good (AI4SG), focused specifically on sustainability. We piloted the module in an existing introductory MIS course, first establishing a range of fundamental AI capabilities through hands-on demos and study cases. Then, with instructor guidance, the student teams, working in a social entrepreneurship "start-up" context, identified sustainability challenges impacting their own communities and worked together to propose and pitch AI-powered solutions. The results suggest that students find this approach deepened their understanding of sustainability issues in their communities, improved their knowledge of how AI could address social issues, and improved their confidence in their ability to innovate. Abstract: This study examines how an individual cognitively generates creative ideas using mobile collaboration platforms (MCPs). Applying the cognitive creativity perspective and the knowledge of the idiosyncratic capabilities of MCPs, the study proposes a research model that explains MCP-driven creative idea generation mechanisms. The model is validated using a field study where individuals were involved in a group collaboration setting for a cognitively challenging task. The results indicate that the use of an MCP positively supports an individual’s creative idea generation process through cognitive warming-up processes (spontaneity effect) and behavioral autonomy (freedom effect). Abstract: The internet has created new markets and enabled alternative business models for criminal activity, such as human trafficking. Consequently, research is needed to understand the complexity, occurrence, and impact of internet-enabled crime on victims and society. Many scholars have called for interdisciplinary approaches to study and develop interventions to address a broad range of cybercrimes, but this call is challenging to implement. Therefore, we provide a confessional account of our experience associated with developing an interdisciplinary research team and conducting research related to a specific form of cybercrime, predatory crime involving deceptive or covert solicitations. Our confessional account allows us to reflect on our project and discuss the challenges we have encountered along with a discussion of how we have addressed these challenges. We offer guidance to researchers in various stages of conducting interdisciplinary research based on our experiences with a specific form of cybercrime, internet-enabled crime. Collapse

Abstract: Suggestion boxes have been used in factories to improve processes through a continuous improvement approach. From this perspective, the ideas with direct and quick implementation and visible results are favoured. This paper investigates the nature of design activities hidden behind the ideas suggested. The authors sort 132 ideas from a suggestion box of a French train maintenance center and highlight differences in the processing of the ideas through the suggestion box. The paper shows that a part of the ideas should have been rejected, as they present a gap in the design to be directly implemented. However, they are kept and collectively re-worked to be well adapted to the factory. This enriches literature on creativity and crowd sourcing for and by manufacturing. In particular, it gives a design perspective to innovation and continuous improvement in factory by revealing different design types in the box to fit the production system. Collapse

Abstract: What is the optimal size for online groups that use electronic communication and collaboration tools? Previous research typically suggested optimal group sizes of about 5 to 7 members, but this research predominantly examined in-person groups. Here we investigate online groups whose members communicate with each other using two electronic collaboration tools: text chat and shared editing. Unlike previous research that studied groups performing a single task, here we measure group performance using a test of collective intelligence (CI) that includes a combination of tasks specifically chosen to predict performance on a wide range of other tasks [72]. Our findings suggest that there is a curvilinear relationship between group size and performance and that the optimal group size in online groups is between 25 and 35. This, in turn, suggests that online groups may now allow more people to be productively involved in group decision-making than was possible with in-person groups in the past. Collapse

Abstract: As organizations have become increasingly reliant on information systems, senior managers are keen in assessing the progress of implemented information security strategies. Although the balanced scorecard approach has been suggested for security governance, a critical issue affecting information security practitioners is complexity, as there are many standards and frameworks, with duplication and overlaps to adhere to when organizing the data. Consequently, the article attempts to develop a more inclusive framework for information security governance, a research gap recently identified in the literature. The article maps five governance and control frameworks (COBIT, SABSA, ISG, ITIL, and ISO 27000) to the information security balanced scorecard (InfoSec BSC) to develop a conceptual design of an effective information security performance measurement tool that can be used by senior managers. Using a real-life case application and interviews with a panel of experts, the article identifies IS initiatives, performance measures for each of the mapped objectives derived from governance and control frameworks that may provide guidance for practitioners.
