Abstract: With the increasing digitalization of health data, patients need to make informed decisions about the online sharing of their protected health information. This necessitates a robust technical infrastructure that enables patients to self-manage consent and the trusted exchange of this information across sharing entities. Unfortu­ nately, current health information exchange systems in the U.S. are limited in both these regards. While there is recent work on digital patient consent management, there is limited work that provides effective solutions for patient self-management of consent. Further, interoperability issues in the way health information exchanges are currently architected and differences in regulations across localities exacerbate the challenges of consent man­ agement. In this research, we survey potential patients' willingness to self-manage healthcare-related consent. Having established the desire for consent self-management, we propose a solution that enables the seamless sharing of patient consent across different healthcare providers and health information exchanges. Specifically, we use a rigorous design science approach to create a blockchain-based, self-managed patient consent system and we evaluate the design through an instantiated prototype. The results of our study should be useful to researchers in healthcare information management as well as to practitioners designing consent management systems. Our research contributes to design science research with an innovative, rigorously evaluated, design principles-based artifact that addresses a critical problem of sharing protected health information. Abstract: Recommendations of algorithms are frequently superior to human judgment, but humans often fail to seize the full potential of algorithms. Research has made initial advances to increase the use of algorithmic advice, but achieved levels remain far from optimal. However, research has not yet considered user personality traits to develop interventions to increase the use of algorithms. We propose to communicate the algorithmic advice via a persuasive message that fits the user's regulatory focus, i.e., the tendency towards promotion-versus prevention focus, to create regulatory fit. To test our hypotheses, we conduct an experiment with a forecasting task and 605 participants. Results support a positive effect of a persuasive message on the use of algorithmic advice. Further, results do not support a regulatory fit effect. Our article adds to theory and practice by developing and empirically testing novel interventions to increase the use of algorithms. Abstract: Disasters and crises are a part of human existence. While upsetting the normal operations of societies and revealing the inherent fragility of infrastructure and social order, they also push us to rethink "the normal" way of living and working. At this moment, IS research on the experiences of businesses in times of war as an extreme crisis is very limited. Taking the case of Ukrainian businesses, we ask the following research questions: How have organizations adapted to war discontinuities and built resilience? and How have the experiences of remote work from the pandemic contributed to building organizational resilience in times of war? Analyzing semi-structured interviews with managers from Ukrainian businesses through the lenses of adaptation theory, remote work discontinuities, and capability-based model of organizational resilience, we present the types of discontinuities experienced and the adaptation strategies used by the companies in addressing them. Our findings show that the resilience of Ukrainian companies has its roots in agile management, continuous communication and collaboration, experiences in using digital technologies during the pandemic, and international community support. The results also indicate the organizations continuously coping and adapting, re-coping, and re-adapting while anticipating unexpected events, which calls for developing a more dynamic resilience model. Abstract: When introducing unfamiliar Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based systems, such as conversational agents (CAs), one needs to ensure that users interact with them according to their design. While past research has studied single-user environments, many practical settings involve multiple parties. This study addresses this gap and focuses on financial advisory service encounters and how mental models evolve in multi-party contexts. A multimodal interactive CA is developed and tested in financial consultations with 24 clients. The observations of these consultations and subsequent interviews provide insights into the challenges of using CAs in unfamiliar contexts. The clients have difficulties effectively using the system. This is linked to the institutional setting of financial advisory service encounters and a mismatch between the designer's conceptual model and the client's mental model, which we call secondary mental model. Abstract: Driven by the growing integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into daily work, this study investigates the Human-Intelligent Personal Assistants (IPAs) coregulation of work-life practices. Guided by an interpretive case study of Microsoft Viva Insights (MVI), we focus on the participation and influence ofIPAs in daily work-life practices. Our findings reveal three coregulatory roles adopted by IPAsrationalist, normalist, and moralist-that influence personal productivity, social bonding and relationship management, self-care, and work-life boundary management practices. By diving deeper into the human-AI relationship from a coregulation perspective, we contribute to the emerging IS literature on the nature and role of AI in transforming how people work. Our research provides valuable insights for practitioners, developers, and scholars aiming to enhance AI design and management, and investigate AI's broader impact on human behaviours at work. Abstract: The effectiveness of behavior change support systems (BCSS) in promoting health and well-being is unflinching. However, its long-term effectiveness is hindered by non-compliance. Research in BCSS that focuses on compliance is scarce, particularly the determinants of compliance intention are not well established. To address this gap, this study investigated the determinants of compliance intention in BCSS by extending the persuasive system design model to include competence, effectiveness, enjoyment, and persuasiveness. By surveying a sample of prospective BCSS users (N=234), partial least squares structural equation modeling was used to evaluate the proposed model. The findings suggest that the prospective users' perceptions of primary task support and dialogue support, as well as social support and credibility support significantly influenced their perceptions of self-competence and system effectiveness respectively. These perceptions influenced enjoyment, then persuasiveness, and finally compliance intention. Future studies will validate these findings on the compliance behavior of BCSS. Collapse

Abstract: E-commerce has grown rapidly over the past years, with prevailing e-commerce platforms aggregating large amounts of customer data. This practice has several undesirable side effects, such as facilitating profiling that may lead to price discrimination and data feedback loops that can hamper competition. Moreover, data hoarding carries security risks through data breaches and undermines customers’ privacy expectations. On the other hand, convenience aspects and compliance regulation demand the processing and storage of user-related data. To address this tension field, we aim to conceptualize and iteratively refine a data-minimizinig e-commerce platform. Following a design science research approach, we identify design objectives and propose and implement a solution in which stakeholders receive only customer data that is indispensable for their part of the process. Our solution leverages digital identity wallets and general-purpose zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs). We aim to perform a criteria-based evaluation to assess our artifact’s feasibility and fitness from an interdisciplinary perspective. With our results, we hope to illustrate that combining state-of-the-art cryptographic techniques and an emerging digital identity paradigm allows reaching the user experience of incumbent e-commerce platforms while mitigating the undesirable socio-economic side effects of avoidable data disclosure. Abstract: The academic community is experiencing a significant disruption thanks to a new technology called ChatGPT. There is news almost daily about how Large Language Models technologies have the potential to allow students to cheat undetected. This leads many universities to discuss ways to regulate and even ban its use. But is this necessary? The previous research focuses mainly on universities' and lecturers' views but fails to consider the students' views. Do students even want to use the system, and if they do, will they use it for nefarious purposes? Extending the Technology Acceptance Model with Perceived Ethics, this quantitative study researched how students perceive ChatGPT from an ethical perspective and how that impacted their intention to use the system for school work. 277 Students from 40 countries took part in the survey. Results indicated that Perceived Ethics has a direct positive influence on the attitude toward usage but only an indirect effect on the behavioral intention to use the system for school work. This study is one of the first to consider how students perceive ChatGPT from an ethical perspective and how that impacts their perception of and intention to use the Large Language Models technology system. Abstract: This research aims to investigate the impact of social media marketing activities (SMMa) on brand loyalty directly and through mediating variables community engagement and lovemark. To propose a research model, we used the theories including lovemark theory, engagement theory and brand equity theory. As a result, this research investigates the impact of SMMa, community engagement, and lovemark on brand loyalty. Using an online survey, we collected data from 464 female participants who are following luxury fashion brands on major social networking sites including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter. Results using PLS revealed that SMMa positively influences community engagement and lovemark. Moreover, we find positive relationships between community engagement, lovemark and brand loyalty. However, we find that SMMa has no direct influence on brand loyalty. Collapse

Abstract: Frequent and habitual engagement with social media can reinforce certain activities such as sharing, clicking hyperlinks, and liking, which may be performed with insufficient cognition. In this study, we aimed to examine the associations between personality traits, habits, and information processing to identify social media users who are susceptible to phishing attacks. Our experimental data consisted of 215 social media users. The results revealed two important findings. First, users who scored high on the personality traits of extraversion, agree­ ableness, and neuroticism were more likely to engage in habitual behaviors that increase their susceptibility to phishing attacks, whereas those who scored high on conscientiousness were less likely. Second, users who habitually react to social media posts were more likely to apply heuristic processing, making them more sus­ ceptible to phishing attacks than those who applied systematic processing.
