Abstract: ☆ This editorial opinion paper provides a subjective viewpoint on the potential impact of generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT in the domains of education, business, and society. Its objective is to offer initial guidance on the opportunities, challenges, and implications associated with these technologies. It is worth noting that, given its nature as an editorial opinion piece, this submission has not undergone a formal double-blind review process but has been reviewed informally by appropriate experts.Transformative artificially intelligent tools, such as ChatGPT, designed to generate sophisticated text indistinguishable from that produced by a human, are applicable across a wide range of contexts. The technology presents opportunities as well as, often ethical and legal, challenges, and has the potential for both positive and negative impacts for organisations, society, and individuals. Offering multi-disciplinary insight into some of these, this article brings together 43 contributions from experts in fields such as computer science, marketing, information systems, education, policy, hospitality and tourism, management, publishing, and nursing. The contributors acknowledge ChatGPT's capabilities to enhance productivity and suggest that it is likely to offer 1 Equal contributions Y.K. Nevertheless, they also consider its limitations, disruptions to practices, threats to privacy and security, and consequences of biases, misuse, and misinformation. However, opinion is split on whether ChatGPT's use should be restricted or legislated. Drawing on these contributions, the article identifies questions requiring further research across three thematic areas: knowledge, transparency, and ethics; digital transformation of organisations and societies; and teaching, learning, and scholarly research. The avenues for further research include: identifying skills, resources, and capabilities needed to handle generative AI; examining biases of generative AI attributable to training datasets and processes; exploring business and societal contexts best suited for generative AI implementation; determining optimal combinations of human and generative AI for various tasks; identifying ways to assess accuracy of text produced by generative AI; and uncovering the ethical and legal issues in using generative AI across different contexts. Abstract: Most online services continue their reliance on text-based passwords as the primary authentication mechanism. With a growing number of these services and the limited creativity to devise new memorable passwords, users tend to reuse their passwords across multiple platforms. These factors, combined with the increasing number of leaked passwords, make passwords vulnerable to cross-site guessing attacks. Over the years, researchers have proposed several prevalent methods to predict subsequently used passwords, such as dictionary attacks, rule-based approaches, neural networks, and combinations of the above. We exploit the correlation between the similarity and predictability of these subsequent passwords in a dataset of 28.8 million users and their 61.5 million passwords. We use a rule-based approach but delegate rule derivation, classification, and prediction to a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN). We limit the number of guessing attempts to ten yet get an astonishingly high prediction accuracy of up to 83% in under five attempts, twice as much as any other known model. The result makes our model effective for targeted online password guessing without getting spotted or locked out. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first attempt of its kind using RNN. We also explore the use of RNN models in passphrase guessing. Passphrases are perceived to be more secure and easier to remember than passwords of the same length. We use a dataset that contains around 100,000 distinct phrases. We demonstrate that RNN models can predict complete passphrases given the initial word with rate up to 40%, which is twice better than other known approaches. Furthermore, our predictions can succeed in under 5,000 attempts, a 100% improvement compared to existing algorithms. In addition, this approach provides ease of deployment and low resource consumption. To our knowledge, it is the first attempt to exploit RNN for passphrase guessing. Collapse

Abstract: The rise of generative AI has been a subject of debate among researchers and practitioners regarding its effect on the labor market. While some argue that it may displace jobs, others suggest it could create new opportunities and improve productivity. This study examines the impact of the ChatGPT launch on 18,130 services with 199,430 observations using a differencein-differences approach and data from the online labor marketplace Fiverr. The findings suggest that ChatGPT had a negative effect on the demand for human content generating and editing services, with a concentration on writing services. However, there was no significant effect on the demand for editing services. The study also found that the demand for services with higher prices was more negatively affected. These results contribute to the ongoing debate on the impact of generative AI on the labor market and offer practical recommendations for service providers to navigate this new AI-driven landscape. Abstract: In an age when open access to law enforcement files and judicial documents can erode individual privacy and confidentiality, miscreants can abuse this open access to personal information for blackmail, misinformation, and even social engineering. Yet, limiting access to law enforcement and court cases is a freedom-of-information violation.To address this tension, this collaborative action-research-based teaching case exemplifies how Italy's Corte dei Conti (Court of Auditors) used artificial intelligence in the automated deidentification and anonymization of court documents in Italy's public sector.This teaching case is aimed at undergraduate and graduate students learning about Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Model (LLM) (e.g., ChatGPT) evolution, development, and operations. The case will help students learn the origin and evolution of AI transformer models and architectures, and discusses the GiusBERTo operation and process, highlighting opportunities and challenges. GiusBERTo, Italy's custom-AI model, offers an innovative approach that walks a tightrope between anonymizing Italy's judicial court documents without sacrificing context or information loss. The case ends with a series of questions, challenges, and potential for LLMs in data anonymization. Collapse
