Abstract: There is a wide gender gap in developing countries due to a range of cultural, economic and political barriers. This is even more accentuated in post conflict economies in times of crisis. Smartphones and mobile applications can help to narrow this gap. The economic and non-economic challenges facing women entrepreneurs and the role of smartphone innovation in overcoming these challenges and developing strong marketing strategies were investigated. We drew on the 5 M model to investigate how mobile applications can support women entrepreneurs. We conducted thirty interviews with women entrepreneurs in Iraq. The findings show that mobile applications provided these entrepreneurs with innovative ways to overcome many of the challenges they face in relation to running a business. The research provides theoretical contributions by developing an integrated, multilevel analytical model on women in entrepreneurship based on extending the 5 M model with new technology-related elements. Practical, policy and managerial implications are discussed. Collapse

Abstract: This paper tests the meta-analysis based unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (meta-UTAUT) model to predict the behavioral intentions of organizational users and their use behavior to artificial intelligence (AI) integrated customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Data was collected from 315 organizational users in India. The hypotheses draw on the theoretical underpinnings which have been statistically validated. Results show that CRM quality and satisfaction significantly influences an organization’s employees attitudes and intentions to use AI integrated CRM systems. The compatibility of CRM systems has, however, a limited impact on employees attitudes. The findings, which are aligned with the extended UTAUT model, provide useful insights into organizations and decision-makers for designing AI integrated CRM systems. Collapse

Abstract: High drop-out rates among students endanger the goal of improving the quality of higher education. In the student lifecycle, the "transition-in" phase is particularly critical, as most premature drop-outs happen in this phase. Thus, universities and society need to find solutions to help students manage the challenges of the "transition-in" phase. We examine whether a mobile learning app designed and developed for the particular needs of business and economics students can support these students in this crucial phase. Using two well-established models -the "five senses of student success" and "student approaches to learning", we document that the mobile solution proposed here is well suited to support success factors that are essential for the "transition-in" phase. Hence, we could show that app usage can positively affect students' sense of capability, resourcefulness, and the strategic approach while mitigating the surface approach. Collapse

Abstract: As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread at an unprecedented rate, many universities around the world halted physical forms of teaching and learning to stop the spread of the virus. As a result, many university students were forced to utilize online learning through channels such as mobile social media. Due to the novelty of this situation, there are many unknowns particularly with the negative influences of mobile learning via social media on university students. Thus, this study looks to examine this subject matter from the perspective of the stimulus–organism–response theory. The uniquely developed research model included four stimuli (i.e., social overload, information overload, life invasion, and privacy invasion), two organisms (i.e., technostress and exhaustion) as well as a response in terms of reduced intention to use mobile learning via social media. The responses were collected from 384 university students via an online survey and analyzed with the Partial-Least-Square-Structural-Equation-Modelling. It was found that the antecedents for both technostress and exhaustion were able to account for more than half of their respective variances. Furthermore, technostress and exhaustion were significant facilitators of the students’ reduced intention to use mobile learning via social media. In addition to the practical insights for stakeholders in the education industry, this study also posited several theoretical implications for researchers. Collapse

Abstract: Efficient building and maintenance of user networks is a fundamental problem for the management of open-access information systems whose business model relies directly on social impact. This article presents a methodology of user community building and management for cloud-based AI-enabled knowledge repositories (AILPs) which are considered a relevant part of enterprise learning ecosystems. Their assessment is based on the number of users, user engagement and satisfaction. Therefore, the indicators of user community growth are a basis for evaluating the quality of IS management and services. To optimize IS business performance, we applied a social impact model, derived from multi-level simulation and a self-contained multicriteria analysis framework. The model combines controlled discrete-event systems, learning cellular automata, and anticipatory decision support. These all serve to optimize user network development strategies. The primary application of this model is the exploitation of an innovative digital knowledge platform, developed within a recent Horizon 2020 research project. Collapse

In the literature, knowledge transfer is argued to enhance the quality of work, and therefore, its value. When addressing this issue, the latest studies have considered and evaluated the use of mobile technologies, which are evidenced to improve a worker's capacity and skills. However, only a few have investigated the impact of the internal and external usability of mobile technologies in facilitating knowledge transfer. This study draws upon evidence from a survey (n= 237) which shows that both internal and external usability positively influence knowledge transfer. The results of this research shed new light on the importance of mobile technology acceptance by employees, provid ing a better understanding of how and why rich usability facilitates knowledge transfer and eventually impacts their performance and productivity. Abstract: Short learning formats such as micro learning are well suited to meeting the growing learning needs created by increasing digitalization. With the help of learning content that is limited in terms of time and content, learners can retrieve information in a demand-oriented and situation-specific manner and acquire knowledge to enable them to adapt to changed circumstances at short notice. However, due to its limited length and content, micro learning is not suitable for developing all types of competences. In this research paper, we present the results of a structured literature review and the empirical results of an interview study. We conducted interviews with 33 experts who are in charge of the design of learning content at enterprises and instructional designers concerning the competences that can be developed using micro learning in enterprises. We identified six different competences that are suitable for development through micro learning: action competence, professional competence, linguistic competence, self-learning competence, social competence, and digital competence.
