Abstract: Integrating a mid-range theory and service-dominant (S-D) logic as a metaperspective is essential to quantify resource integration and determine value co-creation. This study involved a systematic review to identify the resources, what influences these resources to be integrated, and how these resources are integrated in the vehicle ecosystem. First, the study identified six main themes that represent the premises of S-D logic: service, resources, institutions, and institutional arrangements, interaction, resource integration, and value co-creation. Then, this review found the antecedents-privacy concernsoutcomes (APCO) model is presented in the investigated articles. This presents an opportunity to adopt this model as a mid-range theory. Importantly, resource integration was illustrated using privacy calculus and the relationships among the constructs. A conceptual model integrating S-D logic and the enhanced APCO model was developed, and propositions were suggested for future research. However, further research is needed to validate this model in real-life settings. Collapse

Abstract: Electric vehicles (EVs) are considered a product rather than a mobility service. The expansion of EV services requires large amounts of personal information. Due to privacy concerns, EV users may deactivate these services, leading to the discontinuance of EV services and value destruction. Service dominant logic is improving insights into the roles of resources (e.g., personal data) and institutions (e.g., concerns) in influencing individual behaviours in value co-creation (e.g., disclosing personal data). This logic is a metaperspective that needs to be integrated with mid-range theories (e.g., the enhanced antecedents-privacy concerns-outcomes) to investigate how resources, institutions and value co-creation are integrated and how to quantify this integration. This study conducted an online survey of EV users. The findings show that privacy awareness, environmental concerns and privacy concerns influence privacy calculus. However, perceived environmental performance has a stronger impact than privacy risks on intentions to continue disclosing personal data for EV services. Collapse

Abstract: With the emergence of the Industrial Internet of Things, a growing number of manufacturing firms has started to adopt non-ownership business models (NOBMs). NOBM providers maintain ownership of offered machinery and sell only the machine use and/or performance as a service to their clients. While the adoption of NOBMs is found to be associated with novel business opportunities related to client-side uncertainties, it is also found to result in a considerable increase in provider-side uncertainties. Drawing on a multiple-case study with three leading manufacturers, we find notable differences in terms of NOBM designs, ranging from a primary focus on exploiting client-side uncertainties to a primary focus on mitigating provider-side uncertainties. Moreover, our study uncovers four context factors that help explain key differences in NOBM designs. In particular, we identify two machine attributes (human dependency and energy efficiency) and two market attributes (average client size and antitrust regulations) that “push” providers toward either uncertainty-exploiting or uncertainty-mitigating NOBM designs. Abstract: In today's competitive, fast-paced, and technology-driven markets, digital service organizations are increasingly forming strategic partnerships to transform their businesses, accelerate innovation opportunities, and offer customers enhanced value. How these partnerships should be built to enable value co-creation and strengthen collaboration between the partner organizations has thus become an important question for research and practice. This research develops a conceptual framework to explain value co-creation in strategic digital service partnerships and identifies its key enablers. We contribute to the literature by expanding our understanding of how value co-creation between partner organizations occurs as a dynamic and continuous process and how it is influenced by various intraand inter-organizational factors from institutional, resource integration, and service exchange perspectives. In practice, our research can aid digital service organizations in assessing and building their current and future partnerships to co-create value and sustainable growth in their service ecosystem. Abstract: Service organizations across various industries are increasingly implementing continuous development methods and practices to transform their digital service innovation and development processes. Consequently, continuous digital service innovation (DSI) has become a way to react to today's dynamic markets by proposing value to customers quickly while maintaining service quality. However, little is known about how organizations can enable value co-creation (VCC) in their continuous DSI processes. We fill this gap in the literature by focusing on organizational-level continuous DSI processes. Based on findings from 23 industry informants from six Finnish digital service organizations, we present a preliminary framework depicting three integral and interdependent dimensions of managing continuous DSI for VCC within organizations: managing continuous operations, managing people, and managing resources. We argue that such management insights are crucial for both research and practice for realizing the VCC potential of continuous DSI for organizations. Collapse

Abstract: This research aims to investigate the impact of social media marketing activities (SMMa) on brand loyalty directly and through mediating variables community engagement and lovemark. To propose a research model, we used the theories including lovemark theory, engagement theory and brand equity theory. As a result, this research investigates the impact of SMMa, community engagement, and lovemark on brand loyalty. Using an online survey, we collected data from 464 female participants who are following luxury fashion brands on major social networking sites including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter. Results using PLS revealed that SMMa positively influences community engagement and lovemark. Moreover, we find positive relationships between community engagement, lovemark and brand loyalty. However, we find that SMMa has no direct influence on brand loyalty. Collapse

Abstract: As physical products are increasingly augmented with digital technology, manufacturing firms have become part of the development of so-called smart products and smart services. As such, manufacturing firms are challenged by new market participants and ecosystem partners, particularly from the software development industry, and by the dynamic nature of business relationships. While the academic literature on the distinctive characteristics of ecosystems, particularly digital ecosystems, is rich, the effect of smart service ecosystems' emergence on the foundation of smart products remains uncertain. This study reports on case study research based on 47 semi-structured interviews with four companies that participate in an industrial smart service ecosystem. Taking an affordance-theoretic perspective, we uncover the antecedents of and the process of emergent smart service ecosystems. We find that smart service ecosystems have three socio-technical antecedents: a shared worldview, structural flexibility and integrity, and architecture of participation. We explain the emergence of smart service ecosystems as the result of specialisation in shared affordances and integration of idiosyncratic affordances into collective affordances. We derive seven propositions regarding the emergence of smart services, outline opportunities for further research, and present practical guidelines for manufacturing firms. Collapse

Abstract: Data monetization as a service (DMaaS) is a new term in both academia and practice. DMaaS seeks to marry data monetization with servitization and has become important with the advent of technologies such as big data, cloud computing and blockchain. As organizations seek to stand up infrastructure for data monetization, an architecture for DMaaS provides them with a starting point to develop data monetization platforms. This is an area that has been largely unexplored. Therefore, in this paper we leverage the service dominant logic perspective and research on data related services architecture to develop a tentative design for DMaaS. This study is among the first that explore architecture for DMaaS, thus identifying platform layers and services as a base for further architecture development and refinement. Collapse

To advance our understanding of the role of data in such contemporary data-rich service ecosystems, we draw on the service-dominant (S-D) logic and data ecosystem literature. Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) possesses the potential to augment customer service employees e.g. via decision support or solution recommendations. Still, its underlying data for training and testing the AI systems is provided by human annotators through human-in-the-loop configurations. However, due to the high effort for annotators and lack of incentives, AI systems face low underlying data quality. That in turn results in low prediction performance and limited acceptance by the targeted user group. Faced with the enormous volume and increasing complexity of service requests, IT service management (ITSM) especially, relies on high data quality for AI systems and incorporating domain-specific knowledge. By analyzing the existing labeling process in that specific case, we design a revised to-be process and develop a conceptual model from a value co-creation perspective. Finally, a functional prototype as an instantiation in the ITSM domain is implemented and evaluated through accuracy metrics and user evaluation. The results show that the new process increases the perceived value of both labeling quality and the perceived prediction quality. Thus, we contribute a conceptual model that supports the systematic design of efficient and interactive labeling processes in diverse applications of reinforcement learning systems. Collapse
