Abstract: Chronic pain has been identified as one of the most widespread health-related problems. Potential chronic pain apps users seek health communities for current and previous reviews to assess the quality of the apps and make a decision regarding disclosing their information to these apps. In this study, we present a multilevel perspective on how virtual health communities and environmental characteristics of chronic pain mobile health apps impact users' privacy decisions. We used Exploratory Data Analysis and Machine Learning (ML) to operationalize the Theory of Multilevel Information Privacy. The results revealed that the most influential factors affecting users' cost-benefit analysis are Chronic Pain MHA's characteristics related to user's information privacy. The ML results indicate that the existence of information privacy policy can be predicted through the ways the apps use to Collect Data, App's Category, Country, and Store Type, which in turn affect users' decisions. Abstract: With surprising evolution over the past decade, different numbers of social networking sites (SNSs) have created an obligation in the everyday lives of their users and modified the modes of social interaction into content-sharing activities arising the concern toward the group and individual privacy. Drawing from the theory of multilevel information privacy, this study investigates the determinants behind the perception of collective information privacy norm (IPN) and how the perceived psychological ownership affects the individual's decision to disclose or disguise group-created content. More specifically, we aim to explain how users arrive at the decision to share content, including others, considering their tie strength, the user's salient identity while in the group, and group characteristics (formal, informal). Abstract: Given current trends in digitalization and the increased need to understand ways to improve remote work, it's imperative for IS to understand the emergence of noncompliant behaviors of workers to ESN implementation. This research-in-progress proposed a model into how privacy concerns might trigger workarounds while implementing Enterprise Social Networks (ESN), expanding our understanding of the types of information-sharing workarounds that might be pursued and the steps that might explain such decision process. The model focuses on privacy triggers that might react to this visualization affordances of these technologies. The proposed model emphasizes the important role of privacy management and the alternative responses to managerial trends that favor openness and transparency for organizing. Abstract: In the digital era, it is increasingly important to understand how privacy decisions are made because information is frequently perceived as a commodity that is mismanaged. The preponderance of privacy literature focuses on individual-level information privacy concern and personal self-disclosure decisions. We propose that a more versatile multilevel description is required to enable exploration of complex privacy decisions that involve co-owned (i.e., group) information in increasingly sophisticated digital environments. We define the concepts of group and individual information privacy, “we-privacy” and “I-privacy” respectively, as the ability of an individual or group to construct, regulate, and apply the rules for managing their information and interaction with others. We develop the theory of multilevel information privacy (TMIP), which uses the theory of communication privacy management and the developmental theory of privacy as foundations for a social rule-based (i.e., normative) process of making privacy decisions that evolve over time with experience. The TMIP contributes to the privacy literature by drawing from prominent social psychology theories of group behavior (i.e., social identity and self-categorization theories) to explain how privacy decisions can be made by individuals or groups (i.e., social units) or social units acting as members of a particular group. We contend that technology complicates the privacy decision-making process by adding unique environmental characteristics that can influence the social identity assumed for a particular privacy decision, the estimation of the cost-benefit components of the privacy calculus, and the application and evolution of the norms that define the rules for information and interaction management. We discuss the implications of the TMIP for information systems research and provide a research agenda. Collapse
