Abstract: The proliferation of smart technologies transforms the way individual consumers perform tasks. Considerable research alludes that smart technologies are often related to domestic energy consumption. However, it remains unclear how such technologies transform tasks and thereby impact our planet. We explore the role of technological smartness in personal day-to-day tasks that help create a more sustainable future. In the absence of theory, but facing extensive changes in everyday life enabled by smart technologies, we draw on phenomenon-based theorizing (PBT) guidelines. As anchor, we refer to task endogeneity related to task-technology fit theory (TTF). As infusion, we employ theory on public goods. Our model proposes novel relations between the concepts of smart-autonomy and -transparency with sustainable task outcomes, mediated by task convenience and task significance. We discuss some implications, limitations, and future research opportunities. Collapse

Abstract: The adoption of augmented reality (AR) has been one of the defining technological trends of the past decade. While AR has experienced significant growth in consumer electronics, its potential for professional use still needs to be explored. Despite the growing interest in AR, determining its feasibility and potential to satisfy business needs remains challenging. To address this gap, we used a mixedmethod research approach to create a guiding framework called the process augmentability canvas. Drawing on a comprehensive case study of a major European maintenance, repair, and overhaul service provider, as well as state-of-the literature, we present a canvas that allows scholars and practitioners to evaluate AR's applicability for a given process thoroughly. By providing a structured approach to analyzing AR solutions, the process augmentability canvas contributes to a better understanding of how AR can be used efficiently in organizational settings. Abstract: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are critical to the success of enterprises, facilitating business operations through standardized digital processes. However, existing ERP systems are unsuitable for startups and small and medium-sized enterprises that grow quickly and require adaptable solutions with low barriers to entry. Drawing upon 15 explorative interviews with industry experts, we examine the challenges of current ERP systems using the task technology fit theory across companies of varying sizes. We describe high entry barriers, high costs of implementing implicit processes, and insufficient interoperability of already employed tools. We present a vision of a future business process platform based on three enablers: Business processes as first-class entities, semantic data and processes, and cloud-native elasticity and high availability. We discuss how these enablers address current ERP systems' challenges and how they may be used for research on the next generation of business software for tomorrow's enterprises. This research provides a comprehensive analysis of the use of social media by business-to-business (B2B) companies. The current study focuses on the number of aspects of social media such as the effect of social media, social media tools, social media use, adoption of social media use and its barriers, social media strategies, and measuring the effectiveness of use of social media. Abstract: Smartwatches are wearable devices intended to be smartphone companions that capture health data and ease access to notifications. They have also become personalisable standing as a fashion statement. This combination resulted in staggering adoption rates recently leading to question whether smartwatch users’ choice and use satisfaction emerge from utility features or from its fashion characteristics. This paper proposes and validates a fit theory to investigate the antecedents of adopters’ satisfaction. Besides evaluating fit with identity, the model assesses both perceived and actual task-technology fit of smartwatches. A questionnaire-based quantitative approach is used to collect data from about 300 smartwatch users in Qatar. To test the proposed model, data is analysed using structural equation modeling (SEM) and artificial neural networks (ANN). Furthermore, ANN sensitivity analysis ranks the importance of the fit factors affecting users’ choice during pre- and post-adoption stages. Both task-technology and technology-identity fit factors are quasi-equally important in explaining 62% of satisfaction variance. ANN analysis revealed that post-adoption satisfaction is primarily attributed to smartwatches’ ability to fit with users’ identity and secondarily to its perceived fit with tasks. Nevertheless, pre-adoption choice of smartwatches is mainly guided by their functionality. This paper is the first to propose and validate an integrated task-technology-identity fit model to explain smartwatch utilization and users’ satisfaction. The originality also lies in assessing actual task-technology fit and as perceived by users. Employing two modes of analysis revealed extra insights too. Collapse

Abstract: The use of mobile payment (m-payment) is growing exponentially in developing countries. A small number of investigations have been undertaken on what makes people continue to use m-payment in an African context. We combine the task technology fit (TTF) model, expectation-confirmation model (ECM), and trust dimension to explain the influence of continuance use of m-payment. We collected 384 valid questionnaire responses from Mozambique. The results show that the relevant constructs to explain continuance intention are use, individual performance, overall trust, and the moderation role of satisfaction. Collapse

Abstract: Despite the monetary incentives and the meaningful use mandate to implement electronic health record (EHR) systems in the workplace, users still feel threatened due to the mixed outcomes of using EHR systems. This current study examines success outcomes that enhance users' EHR adoption in an organizational setting through the lens of information systems success model. A theoretical framework is proposed to understand what EHR implementation success means to healthcare professionals, and what systems and user characteristics contribute to EHR implementation success. The proposed model suggests that user capability, EHR usability, and EHR usefulness will affect EHR success outcomes (perceived satisfaction with usage and perceived helpfulness over usage process). The study considers the interaction between technology and user capabilities to impact IS success outcomes and discusses some implications to theory and management. Abstract: The field of education has the potential to better facilitate student learning by employing educational recommenders that adapt the learning process to the needs of individual learners. While existing research has shown promise and explores a variety of types of educational recommenders, there is currently a lack of research that ties educational theory to the design of these systems. The theory considered here, selfregulated learning, focuses on putting students in control of their learning and is appropriate in situations where learning is autonomous. This research proposes a design science approach to investigate a theoretical base of self-regulated learning (SRL) for a knowledge-based recommender design framework. Existing research on knowledge-based recommender design with an inclusion of an ontology component will guide development of this artifact. Abstract: Understanding how the application of big data analytics (BDA) generates business value is a persistent challenge in information systems (IS) research. Improving understanding of how BDA realizes business value requires unpacking theories to study the phenomenon. This study unpacks the task-technology fit (TTF) theory toward generating new and improved insights into the business value of BDA. Extant studies on TTF have mainly focused on traditional IT which is different from digital technologies like BDA that are malleable and dynamic. While TTF has primarily focused on how the technology meets task requirements, this study contends that tasks can also be structured to fit the functionality of technology. This study proposes a 2 × 2 matrix framework to explain how BDA and tasks interact. The framework indicates how the reconfigurability of tasks and the editability of BDA impact the fit between tasks and BDA. Future research should explore how the fit between tasks and BDA changes over time. Collapse
