Abstract: The adoption of augmented reality (AR) has been one of the defining technological trends of the past decade. While AR has experienced significant growth in consumer electronics, its potential for professional use still needs to be explored. Despite the growing interest in AR, determining its feasibility and potential to satisfy business needs remains challenging. To address this gap, we used a mixedmethod research approach to create a guiding framework called the process augmentability canvas. Drawing on a comprehensive case study of a major European maintenance, repair, and overhaul service provider, as well as state-of-the literature, we present a canvas that allows scholars and practitioners to evaluate AR's applicability for a given process thoroughly. By providing a structured approach to analyzing AR solutions, the process augmentability canvas contributes to a better understanding of how AR can be used efficiently in organizational settings. Abstract: Success of an organization, both in the public and private sectors, depends on increases in efficiency due to acceptance of information technology. This has focused attention on factors that influence individuals’ acceptance and subsequent use of information technologies in organizations using the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model. In this research, we investigate the role of espoused organizational culture traits as an antecedent to the UTAUT model. Abstract: Identity authentication systems such as biometrics can enable organizations to implement identity authentication and security with greater reliability and accountability. Adoption of these systems is a complex and costly endeavor and susceptible to failure when not aligned to the organization's culture. We examine this adoption behavior utilizing the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) that provides a unified view of user acceptance. In this research, we investigate how espoused organizational culture values influence users' acceptance and use of biometrics technology by considering cultural values as antecedents to the UTAUT model. We conducted an empirical study on the acceptance of a biometric identity authentication system and found that espoused organizational culture values have a significant effect on the UTAUT variables. Facilitating conditions, social influence, and anxiety affect the use of biometric identity authentication systems. Our research contributes to the literature on espoused organizational culture, biometrics, and technology acceptance. Collapse

Abstract: Organizational culture (OC) was found to be a major critical factor for successful IS adoption, yet research on the effects of OC as a contextual factor in IS adoption at an individual level is limited. Research to date that has focused on the influence of OC on IS adoption, has specified OC as either moderator or antecedent to technology acceptance models or as an independent variable directly influencing the adoption decision. This has resulted in a multitude of models based on varying underlying assumptions on how OC influences adoption. As the results of previous research suggest, the influence of OC on technology adoption is more complex than previously assumed and calls for a more in-depth understanding of how OC influences IS adoption on an individual level. To refine the influence of OC on individual IS adoption, we applied a qualitative research approach. Our interviews suggest that cultural values influence individual IS adoption in multifaceted ways but to systematically differ in the underlying mechanisms. By relating our findings back to literature and theory, we developed three propositions to guide future research on how to model cultural values into IS adoption models. Collapse

Abstract: The unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) is a little over a decade old and has been used extensively in information systems (IS) and other fields, as the large number of citations to the original paper that introduced the theory evidences. In this paper, we review and synthesize the IS literature on UTAUT from September 2003 until December 2014, perform a theoretical analysis of UTAUT and its extensions, and chart an agenda for research going forward. Based on Weber's (2012) framework of theory evaluation, we examined UTAUT and its extensions along two sets of quality dimensions; namely, the parts of a theory and the theory as a whole. While our review identifies many merits to UTAUT, we also found that the progress related to this theory has hampered further theoretical development in research into technology acceptance and use. To chart an agenda for research that will enable significant future work, we analyze the theoretical contributions of UTAUT using Whetten's (2009) notion of cross-context theorizing. Our analysis reveals several limitations that lead us to propose a multi-level framework that can serve as the theoretical foundation for future research. Specifically, this framework integrates the notion of research context and cross-context theorizing with the theory evaluation framework to: 1) synthesize the existing UTAUT extensions across both the dimensions and the levels of the research context and 2) highlight promising research directions. We conclude with recommendations for future UTAUT-related research using the proposed framework. Collapse

This has focused attention on factors that influence individuals’ acceptance and subsequent use of information systems and technology. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) is a useful model for managers to assess the likelihood of acceptance of a new technology within an organization. In this paper, we consider organizational culture as an antecedent to the UTAUT model to evaluate factors that influence users’ acceptance and use of the Internet technology. We investigated the role of organizational culture in the adoption of Internet technology in a government agency in an emerging economy, India. Abstract: The paper presents an example of using design science research for solving a problem arising from local practice. The problem concerns adoption of new technology. The paper aims to integrate existing approaches and theories of technology acceptance and change management in a framework useful for practical purposes. It is based on the idea that the successful introduction of an IT system requires a number of conditions to be satisfied as well as means for bringing about the satisfaction of these conditions. The level of satisfaction of the conditions can be measured by a set of parameters, such as the level of strategic, tactical and operational understanding of the system by the users. Means include various types of actions, tools and strategies. The introduction process is steered via periodically measuring the parameters, and applying means that help to change the level of satisfaction of the conditions. Collapse
