Abstract: Building Smart (City) Applications and data streaming have been fast evolving in the last couple of years with a breadth of topics with cities on the edge of the 4 th industrial revolution. With COVID-19 starting to be better addressable and people returning to big cities and downtown areas, visions for urban utopia with focus on sustainability and communities arise again. The combination of Artifical Intelligence, Internet of Things and data streaming methods open up novel research areas with large transational potential and address topics such as smart transportation and standards such as Industry 4.0. This minitrack features the concepts and ideas of Smart Applications and data streaming applications, their implementations, especially from a software engineering point of view. Submissions to this minitrack include presentations of architectures, frameworks, platforms and infrastructures as well as success stories of implementations. Collapse

Abstract: The decision on which hotel to book is a high-cost process for individuals and even more for groups due to the information explosion on online travel agent platforms. To assist group selecting the optimal hotel that meets the majority affective expectations, this study proposes a group hotel selection frame for booking with Kansei text mining and consensus coordinating. Firstly, to quantify the tourists’ affective needs for hotels, a Kansei-related dictionary towards hotel domain is constructed by Kansei text mining. Secondly, the bilattice-based Kansei score of hotels is defined and measured to represent hotel affective information scientifically. Then, a group consensus model with minimum adjustment cost is introduced to coordinate consistency of individual preferences in a tourist group. Moreover, a group hotel ranking based on group affective preference is interactively generated to meet the group personalized demands. Finally, a case study on Trip.com is conducted to demonstrate the proposed method. Collapse

Abstract: Cutting-edge technologies like big data analytics (BDA), artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, blockchain, and digital twins have a profound impact on the sustainability of the production system. In addition, it is argued that turbulence in technology could negatively impact the adoption of these technologies and adversely impact the sustainability of the production system of the firm. The present study has demonstrated that the role of technological turbulence as a moderator could impact the relationships between the sustainability the of production system with its predictors. The study further analyses the mediating role of operational sustainability which could impact the firm performance. A theoretical model has been developed that is underpinned by dynamic capability view (DCV) theory and firm absorptive capacity theory. This model was verified by PLS-SEM with 412 responses from various manufacturing firms in India. There exists a positive and significant influence of AI and other cutting-edge technologies for keeping the production system sustainable. Collapse

Abstract: This paper tests the meta-analysis based unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (meta-UTAUT) model to predict the behavioral intentions of organizational users and their use behavior to artificial intelligence (AI) integrated customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Data was collected from 315 organizational users in India. The hypotheses draw on the theoretical underpinnings which have been statistically validated. Results show that CRM quality and satisfaction significantly influences an organization’s employees attitudes and intentions to use AI integrated CRM systems. The compatibility of CRM systems has, however, a limited impact on employees attitudes. The findings, which are aligned with the extended UTAUT model, provide useful insights into organizations and decision-makers for designing AI integrated CRM systems. Collapse

Abstract: Although achieving strategic distinctiveness is critical for firms in dynamic industries, where the competitive landscape and market conditions frequently change, there is a paucity of research on the impact of information technology (IT) on a firm's strategic conformity (or distinctiveness). Motivated by the importance of strategic conformity and emergence of novel technologies, we draw on institutional theory and hypothesize that IT Novelty positively impacts strategic conformity. Second, drawing on resource-based view, we hypothesize that market dynamism and competitive dynamism negatively moderate the effect of IT Novelty on strategic conformity. Third, we hypothesize that the moderating impact is stronger for market dynamism than competitive dynamism. We find support for our hypotheses using a fifteen-year dataset from over 300 U.S. manufacturing firms. Our study contributes to theory and managerial practice by combining institutional and resource-based view perspectives to examine how IT Novelty shapes a firm's strategic conformity, particularly in dynamic industry conditions. Abstract: In the recent era of "Internet of things" (IoT), giant logistics enterprises achieve their sustainability goals comparatively easier than "Small to Medium Business Entrepreneurs" (SMBEs). Currently, IoT connected trucks generate massive data such as locations, cabin environmental conditions, vehicle movements, engine status variables, driver behavioral patterns, etc. Large-scale enterprises process this information in real time to maintain green compliance and waste reduction. However, SMBEs often lack resources to afford smart vehicles and tracking systems for critical sustainability parameters to become visible in time, henceforth, failing to comply with green standards. This research proposes a cost effective, lightweight cloud-based enabler i.e., "Green Tracking as a Service" (GTaaS) based on sustainability eco-system, backing the need of such service through case studies conducted in retail markets of Sydney. By performing state and barrier analysis of multiple fresh produce SMBEs, we aim to help them go green, through continuous monitoring and predictive maintenance techniques, implemented via GTaaS. Abstract: The problem of the large-scale aggregation of behind-the-meter demand and generation resources by a distributed-energy-resource aggregator (DERA) is considered. As a wholesale market participant, a DERA maximizes its profit while providing competitive services to its customers with higher consumer/prosumer surpluses than those offered by the distribution utilities or community choice aggregations.A constrained profit maximization program for aggregating behind-the-meter generation and consumption resources is formulated, from which payment functions for the behind-the-meter consumptions and generations are derived.Also obtained are DERA's bid and offer curves for its participation in the wholesale energy market. Abstract: In contemporary software development, software process tailoring (SPT) refers to the continual planning and adjustment of the development process, which evolves to better accommodate dynamics and meet customer needs. SPT is a critical teamwork involving the differences in time-related perceptions among team members when tailoring to adjust and refine the development. This is particularly true in agile-based projects that promote iterative development over shorter cycle times for early release; thus, temporality is critical to efficiently and effectively determine a process solution for the next iteration of time-bound development. In this regard, this study theorizes a temporal model to explore how teams' temporal leadership, temporal reflexivity and shared temporal cognitions (STC) collectively determine SPT performance in agile environments. Based on an empirical examination, we suggest facilitating the role of temporal leadership in agile development, as the results demonstrate that it not only directly increases SPT performance but also stimulates both temporal reflexivity and STC in their collateral influences on effectual development planning. Notably, the results also show that team reflexivity does not exert the same favorable effect in SPT as in the distributed team environment. Theoretical implications are considered, and practical applications of the findings are provided. Collapse

Abstract: As frequent service failures raise user concerns, guarantee compensation has become a competitive instrument for cloud service providers (CSPs) in addition to price. This study proposes a game-theoretical model where two CSPs compete on both price and compensation. We consider two roles of compensation: (1) remedying user losses and (2) helping users to form quality perception. The results indicate that the higher-quality CSP should always guarantee higher compensation but may not always charge a higher price. We further investigate the signaling policies and find that the lower-quality CSP is more likely to signal a higher-than-actual quality. Collapse
