Abstract: Process mining (PM) has gained traction as a Big Data Analytics technique to discover, monitor, and improve business processes based on event data that are available in organizations' information systems. However, despite high expectations and widespread use in practice, organizations still struggle to implement and realize value from PM. In particular, organizations, first, are challenged to identify and establish the antecedents necessary for implementing PM use cases, and second, lack guidance in identifying and assessing valuable PM use cases. Even though initial studies investigated sociotechnical factors influencing the adoption, implementation, and value of PM on the organizational level, knowledge in the field is still fragmented, and we lack a systematic understanding of how organizations can assess antecedents for and value potentials of PM to identify valuable use cases. Thus, building on a design science research approach, we address this research gap by developing and evaluating a structured framework drawing on the taxonomy development method of Nickerson et al. (2013) for assessing PM use cases based on their antecedents and expected value potentials. We iteratively develop and evaluate the taxonomy grounded in theory by drawing on PM literature and related research fields and practice by conducting twelve semi-structured interviews at a German manufacturing corporation to apply and evaluate the taxonomy. Consequently, our study contributes to research on the organizational implementation and use of PM and enables researchers and practitioners to understand, operationalize, and assess the factors influencing the selection of PM use cases. Abstract: Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has emerged as promising automation technology in recent years. Firms seize RPA for fast and cost-efficient low-code process automation implemented and maintained decentrally in the business units by subject matter experts (SMEs) without IT development experience. However, decentralized RPA projects are reported to frequently fail and be prone to challenges as SMEs struggle to meet their new roles and responsibilities, such as developers or testers. Yet, research lacks an understanding of how challenges related to SMEs' roles and responsibilities unfold and how to address these challenges when executing decentralized RPA projects. To this end, our study employs a Design Science Research approach, drawing on literature and 14 expert interviews, to (1) systematically synthesize the challenges related to SMEs' roles and responsibilities and (2) derive a software development framework for supporting SMEs in their new roles and responsibilities in decentralized RPA projects. Abstract: This teaching case is about 'Yohani' -a Global YouTube sensation. Yohani's song 'Menike Mage Hithe' reached the top hits of Amazon Music and Spotify, eventually making its way to the YouTube Top-10 global charts in September 2021. Gathering in-depth insights from the executive staff behind her record label company and her creative company, this teaching case demonstrates (i) the role of a social media strategy in contemporary businesses and entrepreneurs; (ii) social media hygiene factors that one must consider; (iii) how social media insights gained through analytics assisted in delivering a carefully orchestrated business strategy, and (iv) how a combination of social media platforms was employed while considering a range of technological, geographical, financial and social factors. Abstract: The burgeoning adoption of digital technologies has allowed contemporary business organizations to endure groundbreaking transformations. As a result, academics have made considerable effort to infuse clarity and better understand the notion of digital transformation. Nonetheless, there is a paucity of a consolidated custom of digital transformation research and an overarching framework endorsed by theoretical foundations in extant literature. This study provides a state-of-art synthesis of the extant literature by systematically reviewing 183 peer-reviewed journal articles published in over thirty leading academic outlets and a comprehensive nomological net of digital transformation by paying close attention to salient theoretical foundations apparent in the extant literature, which will be useful for prospective academic studies. Abstract: According to the theory of IT-mediated state-tracking, the intended and unintended consequences of constantly checking digital devices can be judged by the resulting problem of attention and by whether the checking led to information that served the individual's enduring goal. While this perspective offers numerous benefits over the common practice of labeling excessive information technology use as addiction, as of yet, the constructs of problem of attention (PoA) and service to enduring goal (SEG) lack empirical measures. Thus, this paper develops measurement scales for the constructs PoA and SEG following an established construct development methodology. We evaluate the measures' validity and reliability and demonstrate that PoA and SEG differ from existing similar concepts. With the help of our newly developed constructs the quality of constant checking habits can be assessed which enables future studies to scrutinize the theorized preventive role of self-control in the context of smartphone habits. Abstract: In this paper, we present a systematization of previous research on indices of financial inclusion. We then propose a conceptualization of a financial inclusion index that considers the role of digital technologies and innovations beyond the traditional financial sector, encompassing three dimensions, namely i) Access, ii) Usage, and iii) Appropriability. We utilize this framework to derive propositions for future empirical research on Decentralized Finance (DeFi), a blockchain-based financial infrastructure that bypasses traditional financial systems, to examine its contribution to financial inclusion. Abstract: This paper complements an earlier (2019) literature review on workarounds in information systemsresearch by including research that has influenced or been published in core IS outlets during the last five years (2018)(2019)(2020)(2021)(2022). Our study captures research that strengthened, widened, and challenged theoretical insights from the previous review. It also provides additional insights and develops seven themes of theoretical insight. The 31 new papers and our updated analysis are most evident in the three themes: Workarounds and power, Temporality of workarounds, and Managing workarounds. We also found additional studies using the term 'workaround' differently to the extent that they have not applied the term to the same empirical phenomena, which questions the validity of some theoretical claims. We also found significantly more studies that used quantitative data-collection methods than the previous review.Replicating Ejnefjäll and Ågerfalk's (2019) search approach, we searched for the following terms: workaround, workarounds, work-around, and work-arounds. The first search was performed across the AIS Senior Scholars' basket of eight and resulted in five new papers that included the term in their title, abstract, or keywords. In the second search, we scanned all literature cited in these five papers with the same search terms and identified 13 additional publications with titles, abstracts, or keywords containing the term. This scan ensured the inclusion of the most important workaround literature that has influenced or been published in the field of IS. We checked these 18 papers against the conference papers included by Ejnefjäll and Ågerfalk (2019) and found no duplicate studies. We also included papers in proceedings from the official AIS conferences between 2018 and 2022 to find knowledge in the emerging research area of workarounds not yet published in journals (Whitley and Galliers, 2007). We searched titles, abstracts, and keywords in the proceedings of the four official AIS conferences, which resulted in 13 additional full research papers. Our literature search thus resulted in 31 documents: 14 journal papers and 17 conference papers. The additional full-text searches performed by Ejnefjäll and Ågerfalk (2019) provided input to their conceptualization but provided few theoretical insights regarding workarounds. Since the primary purpose of this update is to capture additional theoretical insights, we only included searches that resulted in papers categorized as central (title, abstract, or keywords containing the term). Abstract: Driven by the growing integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into daily work, this study investigates the Human-Intelligent Personal Assistants (IPAs) coregulation of work-life practices. Guided by an interpretive case study of Microsoft Viva Insights (MVI), we focus on the participation and influence ofIPAs in daily work-life practices. Our findings reveal three coregulatory roles adopted by IPAsrationalist, normalist, and moralist-that influence personal productivity, social bonding and relationship management, self-care, and work-life boundary management practices. By diving deeper into the human-AI relationship from a coregulation perspective, we contribute to the emerging IS literature on the nature and role of AI in transforming how people work. Our research provides valuable insights for practitioners, developers, and scholars aiming to enhance AI design and management, and investigate AI's broader impact on human behaviours at work. Abstract: Outlier detection is widely used for identification of unusual suspicious patterns in health care fraud detection. However, the impact of adversarial perturbations on outliers and the related decisions are not well studied. In the health care fraud detection domain, standard practice does not consider health care billings being subject to intentional data manipulations. This paper presents a decision theoretic approach for outlier detection in adversarial environments. Proposed adversarial risk analysis-based framework allows incomplete information and adversarial perturbations on the data inputs. While the work with actual health care fraud data is ongoing, the proposed novel adversarial outlier detection method has the potential to support health care fraud audit decision support systems. Abstract: Triple bottom-line challenges are increasingly related to the long-term survival of companies. Both researchers and businesses understand that the transformation towards a sustainable future is dependent on green IS initiatives. However, companies base their decisions on business cases when investing in IS. Many of the required changes that green IS can offer-especially when it comes to new systems that require new business models-are not captured by business cases. This paper presents a model that widens the perspective on value creation. The presented Sustainable Stewardship Management Model (SSMM) allows companies that strive for a stewardship role to evaluate both existing and new forms of green IS by combining casual and effectual decision-making. The model is a result of a collaboration with several large Swedish commercial real estate companies, their tenants, and a non-governmental organization (NGO).
